Thanks to little regulation or animal welfare standards, and the absence of any regulations at all in many of the countries involved in its production, animals raised for fur are a particularly neglected bunch within the animal exploitation industries. Just as we have no biological need to eat meat and other animal products, we also have zero need to be wearing the skins of the dead. Sadly, as is so often the case, the immense suffering that goes into the production of these items is kept well hidden, as well as being wilfully ignored by those who purchase them.
