The Website has Landed

Well it almost resulted in me losing my marbles, but most of the glitches seem to be ironed out and the SoV website is finally up and running.
My aim with the site is basically to provide three things via three different sections: Cartoons, Vegan Help and Vegan Q&A.

Cartoons
The cartoons section is just a selection of some of my favourite images from the past year. In some cases, you can click on the cartoon itself for a little more information about the topic, or to see the actual images or videos that inspired me to make it (full disclosure - in a couple of cases, it isn't the most pleasant of viewing because yes, insanely, we live in a world where piglets chopped-off tails and torn out testicles tossed in a pile on a table is a real and acceptable thing, as are giant piles of skinless animal carcasses, brutally slaughtered to make fabrics we don't even need).
If you're particularly sensitive to seeing these things, use your judgement and don't click on those cartoons that depict particularly grim acts towards animals.
I feel it necessary to include these harsh truths partly because I'm sometimes accused of making these terrible abuses up. This is a way of documenting them alongside their cartoon in order to show those who don't believe that not only are they real, but they actually standard practices in industries that abuse and torture millions of animals daily.
If you're looking for some totally safe Skool of Vegan shenanigans though, fear not, you can head instead to the all-important 'Vegan Help' section.

Vegan Help
This part of the site is simply a database of a wide variety of vegan help and resources. I hope it will be particularly helpful to new vegans, or to those just beginning to take the blinkers off who are searching for some help and answers.
From documentaries, books and cooking, to diet, nutrition and exercise, I've tried to make this section something I would have been grateful for when opening my own eyes just a few short years ago.
This section is perfect to share with anyone who seems interested in veganism or asks you where they can find out more. Alternatively, you can share individual pages as a quick way to help someone who asks you about good documentaries to watch, handy resources for kids, nutritional information, etc.

I'd like to add to and improve the Vegan Help section of the site over time, as I'm sure there are lots of resources available I'm not aware of (and of course more great vegan resources are always being created). In this regard, I'll be creating a Facebook group where you can help me make it the best possible resource for those interested in veganism - more details on that below.

Vegan Q&A
This section is my take on all the weird and wonderful excuses people use when attempting to justify their consumption of animals. Classics such as 'plants feel pain', 'wild animals kill each other' and 'I can love animals and still kill them' are all responded to - and a few common questions non-vegans might have about veganism are covered, too.
Some of the responses to the argument are quite detailed and may even include graphic video (there is no auto play on the site). It's not fun to see but my personal view is that we shouldn't hide or sugar coat these brutal acts - and it was seeing these things and finally opening up to the fact that I was contributing to them, that set me on my own path toward veganism. In my opinion, education is the number one tool for opening the eyes of others, and it's something we can't provide properly without exposing exactly what's happening behind the closed doors of the animal exploitation industries.

                                               -----

If you like what you see on the SoV website and consider it a worthy resource then feel free to recommend it to others, or to share any relevant parts with those you feel would benefit.

Finally, gigantic and heartfelt thanks to everyone who's liked, shared and commented on my cartoons over the past year. People contact me regularly saying the images helped them see that veganism is the way to go, to transition from vegetarian to vegan, or that they were inspired to start making changes.
It might be just one small corner of the internet, but our numbers are ever growing and together we can, and will, create positive change for people, the planet and of course, for the animals.

And Vegans wonder why you aren't invited to social gatherings.... sheesh!

In addition, try doing your research on slaughtering methods and animal treatment in the cattle industry. You're woefully ignorant or a member of PETA.

Hi JD. Could you explain how this website would stop me being invited to social events? I've only just uploaded it, but I've had nothing but positive feedback from those (non-vegans) in my social circle so far. As you can see from your comment above, I do get a little rudeness from complete strangers now and then - but that seems to go hand in hand with having the viewpoint that we shouldnt hurt and kill animals.
As for cattle slaughtering, it is my understanding that we crack them in the skull with a bolt gun then hang them upside-down and slit their throats. This is the standard industry method, but please let me know if they are sometimes killed differently and I will attempt to address that, too. If my woeful ignorance is a problem to you, then why not try educating me rather than taking the lazy route of tossng out a couple of lame insults.

I LOVE how you encourage compassion & veganism. I think it's time for you to make some merch. I'd love to have a shirt of Skool of Vegan with some provoking comic on it to promote your work and make people curious about veganism. Launching a merch would be absolutely awesome and be sure I'd be the first to buy a sweatshirt. Please please please think about it!
Love from Germany,
your fellow vegan and a huge fan of yours,
Sara :)

It's me again. :) Just wanted to inform you that Ellen Degeneres is for sure no vegan anymore since she launched a shoeline containing leather. :(

Hello, FANTASTIC job, thank you :-) I am a new vegan and your work is just amazing, funny (!) and inspirational. I agree with Sarah, we NEED t-shirts with your work on, as well as being able to buy cards, posters and mugs :-) Good luck, thank you again x
